The Hell Cycle is the most commonly used transportation amongst the many individuals who have served as Ghost Rider after being possessed with the Spirit of Vengeance or other demonic entities (such as Zarathos). As far as superhero vehicles go it’s easily one of the most iconic.
It was created by Mephisto in his realm and is powered by Hellfire. As such the Hell Cycle doesn’t obey the natural laws of the physical world. It can climb vertical surfaces, glide over water, and ignore forces like gravity and inertia.

The Hell Cycle capable of moving at demonic speeds and has even in some cases, been shown to be capable of flight.
Its wheels burn with Hellfire, lighting up the road as it tears through the night. The Hell Cycle takes only orders from the Ghost Rider and follows his every whim even when he’s not near it. It is spiritually bound to the Ghost Rider. It can be summoned at will and will manifest instantly. Sometimes it will rise from the ground and form from fire, in other stories Ghost Rider has been seen transforming an ordinary motorcycle into the Hell Cycle through direct contact with Hellfire.
How Fast is the Hell Cycle?

So, we’ve established that it’s fast…but just how fast is the Hell Cycle? Well, whilst we have not been given an exact top speed of the Hell Cycle, thanks to Wolverine #36 (2020), we do know that it generates “9g’s and a thousand degrees”. Meaning that the force is 9 times the force of gravity. Meaning the Hell Cycle accelerates at a truly terrifying 197.3mph/s.
Just to put this into perspective for you, if Ghost Rider were to continue accelerating at this pace for 10 seconds he would be riding at 1,974.3 mph!
Can the Hell Cycle Fly?

The Hell Cycle is capable of flight. It can lift off the ground and travel through the air at high speeds. For instance in Ghost Rider Vol. 9 #1 (2019), Danny Ketch is seen transforming into Ghost Rider and bursting into the sky on his Hell Cycle.
Notable Hell Cycle Owners

Most known Ghost Riders have ridden a Hell Cycle of some sort. Some have used other modes of transportation, such as Robbie Reyes and his Hell Charger. But the first thing most people think of when they hear “Ghost Rider” is the iconic flaming motorcycle. Here are some of the most well-known riders associated with the Hell Cycle:
Johnnathon “Johnny” Blaze

First appearing in Marvel Spotlight #5 (May, 1972), Johnny Blaze is the most famously known Ghost Rider and whilst 1,000,000BC Ghost Rider is the first Ghost Rider canonically, Johnny Blaze was the first to appear in Marvel Comics.
He was a stunt rider who made a deal with Mephisto to save the life of his adoptive father after he was diagnosed with cancer. His Hell Cyle was created from Hellfire by Mephisto and it takes the form of a flaming-wheeled chopper.
Daniel Ketch

First appearing in Ghost Rider Vol. 3 #1 (May, 1990), Danny Ketch was introduced as a new host for the Spirit of Vengeance during a darker and more supernatural era of Marvel Comics. Unlike Johnny Blaze, Danny did not make a deal with a demon. Instead, he became the Ghost Rider after coming into contact with a mystical sigil on a motorcycle that bonded him to the Spirit of Vengeance when his sister was attacked by gang members.
Though it wasn’t revealed until later, Danny is the long-lost younger brother of Johnny Blaze, making their connection to the Spirit of Vengeance a shared legacy.
Danny’s Hell Cycle was sleeker and more modern in design, with thicker tires and more angular features. It was powered by Hellfire and had enhanced abilities such as firing chains, launching blasts of Hellfire, and manifesting from thin air. His tenure as Ghost Rider expanded the mythos and introduced the idea that multiple Spirits of Vengeance could exist across different hosts.
Hellverine

Hellverine first appeared in Weapons of Vengeance: Alpha (August, 2023), as part of a crossover between Ghost Rider and Wolverine. This version of Ghost Rider is a fusion of Wolverine and the Spirit of Vengeance, combining Logan’s healing factor and claws with the supernatural powers of Hellfire.
Hellverine rides a demonic Hell Cycle with large spiked wheels and flaming tread. The vehicle, like its rider, is savage and brutal in both design and function. This incarnation is not a permanent host but represents a temporary union of Wolverine with the Spirit of Vengeance under extreme circumstances, blending mutant ferocity with infernal wrath.
