Free PSD’s

As a web designer I have worked on a number of web sites that have not gone to completion or changed direction at one point. I thought that posting the PSD files could be a good way for these web sites/projects to continue. Feel free to use these files any way you like. Stay tuned as I will be posting more of these in the future. Hopefully I can create some other free and helpful files for everyone using other Adobe products.
If you do use any of these PSD files for a project I would love to see how you have implemented them. It is not necessary but an email or link the the project would be great!

Every now and then we all like to change the look of our computer. Wallpapers are quick and easy to change the feel for your desktop. www.desktopography.net has many high res. wallpapers. Most contain some kind of nature theme. Below is an image of one of my favorites.

Design Galleries

The internet is full of design galleries for web sites. Personally I like to explore these galleries for inspiration and for my own curiosity. My main site, Flypaper Creative, was submitted to a number of these design gallery sites last year and it brought a good amount of traffic to my site. At one point I had reached a Google page rank of 3. Not bad, since I believe I need a lot of work with my SEO. (Which I need to work on sometime soon.) Color Scheme

Finding the right color scheme for your project can sometimes be very difficult. I have found a number of color scheme sites that are helpful, such as colorlovers.com. None have been as helpful to me as Color Jack Shpere. Very good options with this tool. I have really been enjoying the split complementary color option. You can also pick and export your color schemes for Photoshop and Illustrator. Another great feature is the ability to change that background to black to white.

Image Slider

I found some interesting (and free) image sliders by Fabio Zendhi Nagao (http://zend.lojcomm.com.br). Code for these sliders are easy to find and follow. The code is separated nicely into HTML, JS, and CSS. Fabio also has some other interesting projects like forum validation and the fisheye.

bbpress Forums

I have recently been looking for an easy to use and easy to modify forum solution and I came across bbpress. bbpress is created by the same people who brought us WordPress. I must say that I am very happy with the these forums so far. Following the link bellow you can see the working forums on my server.

The link will more then likely change in the future but I have already made some modifications to the layout to mimic the look of a project I am releasing in the near future. The only changes I have made are to the CSS code. Personally I do not know PHP that well and it seems like almost everything can be modified with the style sheet.
bbpress was also very easy to set up. I created a database with my hosting company in my hosting company’s dashboard. Then I created a user to for the database. Finally I went to my install page for the bbpress forums on my server and just followed the three easy steps.

Web Gallery #1

Here are some of my favorite web sites. The Horus Project in particular was a huge inspiration for me. I think the first time I visited their site was way back in 2000. The art work was fantastic and the sound with some of the sites enhanced the experience. In my last term at college I worked on a flash project that had some great abstract art that I am still proud of to this day. (I will try to post a link to my art or site.)
